Springfield, Missouri

Springfield Ballet’s school exists today as a comprehensive training program for area dancers to build a strong foundation in classical ballet and complementary elective dance styles. The school’s curriculum is built around the core values of professionalism, excellence, and discipline and provides an atmosphere that fosters self-confidence, grace, focus and a thoughtful attitude toward instructors and other students. Our highly skilled, professional faculty offer classes in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap and stretch & strengthen. Classes are offered for all skill levels to individuals ages two through adult. Springfield Ballet classes are unique in that they are neither recital nor competition driven. 100% of valuable classroom time is spent learning and strengthening dancers’ technique rather than practicing a routine for performance. Students interested in performing may audition for Springfield Ballet’s season productions held in the fall and spring each year.

Young Choreographers Showcase

We were excited to bring back this wonderful performance opportunity for our students in Ballet 3 & up. With all the wonderful creative minds in our school, we presented an opportunity for students to produce their own show! Springfield Ballet offered dancers in Ballet 3 and up a chance to participate in our 9th annual Young Choreographers Showcase.

Students, through the guidance of workshops and Springfield Ballet faculty mentors, showcased their work in a live performance on Saturday, May 8th, at 5:30 PM in the Jordan Valley Park amphitheater and on the fountains stage.

Dancers in Ballet 4 and up were eligible to choreograph their own work while those in Ballet 3+  participated in duties from costuming to graphic design to stage management - this was fully student-produced (with guidance).

This event flyer, which includes important dates, is found here.  Our students had fun with this wonderful learning and creative process!
