Children’s Workshop Series

Each Springfield Ballet workshop engages boys and girls (age 3–8) in an afternoon of fun and dance that includes learning roles from the ballet, crafts, games, a synopsis of the story and a surprise guest performance. No dance experience is needed to attend this enriching ballet introduction.

Spring Workshops: SOLD OUT

  • Aladdin - Sunday, February 26 at 3:00-5:00 pm
  • The Wizard of Oz - Sunday, March 26 at 3:00-5:00 pm

All workshops are held at The Creamery Arts Center. Children are not required to have dance experience to attend - this is open to all!

Participants should wear comfortable attire (stretch/sweat pants and t-shirt or leotard and tights), bare feet or dance shoes. Masks are recommended to be worn by all participants and faculty members attending each workshop.

Cost is $20 for one workshop or $32 for both.

Saturday, April 22 at 12:30-1:30 pm
Join Springfield Ballet instructor and former professional dancer Joshua Velazquez for a free fun-filled dance workshop just for the boys! Young men ages 7-12 will experience dance movement and conditioning exercises that improve balance, coordination, agility and strength. The connection between increased athleticism and dance movement will be explored.

No dance experience is necessary but spots are limited so register today!


No School... Let's Dance!  School's Out Workshop

Monday, February 20 from 8am-4pm, mini-performance at 3:40pm
With school closed for President's Day we invite boys and girls ages 6-10 to join us for a day of fun at our No School...Let's Dance Workshop Into The Jungle! The day includes ballet, an intro to modern dance, an art project, games, a special "Zoo to You" visit by Dickerson Park Zoo with Ms. Jamie and more. No dance experience needed to attend - all are welcome!

Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and wear comfortable attire.

Cost $35 per dancer.
